Life is messy

Real life is messy and then there are the days its REALLY messy.

Life for the last month or so for me has been of the REALLY messy kind.

grumpy cat

Most of the time I try to be reasonably well tempered in guild. Sometimes I lose my rag... hopeful its not more often than I realise but sometimes I throw all my toys out of my cot and sulk... tonight was one of those times.

Damned undying

But to my chosen ones who put up with my sulks when someone dies... thank you - I just need a moment then Im all good... 'Tonight you made me laugh hard enough that I was ok before I went to bed.

We all have our gripes.... this bloody achievement is mine!

Raiding and Realm Activity

Today I got distracted thinking about the number of guilds that I personally know of who have gone into hibernation or shut up shop recently. This is a common phenomenon that occurs after new content. People come on play hard, burn out, get bored, then take a break until the next big release.

Because so  many players have taken time out it can sometimes make filling raids  more challenging for those who didnt eat their whole bag of lollies in the first few hours.

Male Chauvanism lives!

Chauvinist is a word that arose because of the over-the-top antics of Nicholas Chauvin.

(Male chauvinism is a term used to describe the belief that men are superior to woman.)

Many years ago I worked at a decorating store part time. I was employed to advise on wallpaper, decoration and paint supplies. I knew my stuff and was one of the top sales people.

However there were the old school men who would come into the store and have to talk to a man (because the little woman wouldnt know about paint!)

ICC 25 - Loot wars everywhere

We have been looking for a guild to run 25man ICC's with for sometime. Alas the first two Gm's I spoke to have already got "Working relationships" with other guilds to achieve the same thing so we had to look further afield.

Funnily enough we were recently approached by a guy who we run with from time to time from Ascended. Seems that  a portion of their regular raiders are burnt out yet as many still wish to be raiding. The co-guild idea works for them and for us to give both guilds the opportunity to get into ICC in 25 man mode.

Obviously by running with them we also benefit from being able to do fights in heroic mode.  This week we had our first joint run and downed 6/12 bosses with a heroic on Gunship. It was very messy but we had no wipes, we even got the weekly.

Sindagosa dies

The Biatch is finally dead!

We have two ten man groups in ICC at the moment. One of them is the progression group that has been pushing thru the last few weeks to get to the LK. I have filled absences in this group with either my hunter or my healer as required. (The second group started about a week ago and last night I was in with them) The progression group has been the one to fine tune the strats and to suffer the mental angst of night after night wiping in the name of progression.

The Sindragosa fight has been a struggle with every night we go in a new person being in the group and having to learn the fight. We have had to tweak and fine tune it from what we saw on vids and strat guides and peoples exposure in other runs. It has been a Hard won battle.

Do you have a pocket protector?

Stereotypes suck.

  • I play WoW and I don't live in my parents basement.
  • I play WoW and I am not a fat geeky little boy who has no social life.
  • I got a haircut and a real job.
  • I shower regularly

After a recent influx of new recruits, it got me thinking about the dynamics of the people in game Vs peoples perception of Geeks being the only ones who play MMORPG's.

32 Things about me

1. I  am 50% Irish -descended from English,Irish, Scottish and Welsh stock. My ancestors has been breeding the Irish out for generations... In one crazy moment I bred it back in - my son is 75% Irish

2. I am the middle born child of three. Both of my siblings are brothers. Mum and Dad must just have got lucky with me.
